NAKED PLANET. Can Space Queen NASTY CANASTA and starship captain JONNY PORKPIE forge a futuristic truce with the help of scintillating performances by burlesque stars ANITA COOKIE, CREAMY STEVENS, DELIRIUM TREMENS, GIGI LA FEMME, JO BOOBS, NAUGHTIA NICE, RUBY VALENTINE, SCOTT RAYOW, TIGGER!, ZERO BOY and special guests DEVILICIA (Fri) and MISS SATURN (Sat)? If we know anything about classic sci-fi plots, the answer is "yes"... but (if we know anything about burlesque) not before everyone gets undressed. "One might be surprised," says Pinchbottom, "given the clichéd image of less-than-attractive gentlemen clad as Klingons, to find that quite a few beautiful women are closeted Science Fiction fans. But one would be nothing short of delighted -- as I was -- to discover that several of these beautiful women also have a strong interest in taking off their clothes on stage. Learning this, we had no option but to encourage these ladies (plus a man or two) to combine the two passions." Last presented in July 2006, NAKED PLANET was the audience pick for Pinchbottom's November re-run slot in a recent online poll, perhaps because (in the words of Time Out New York), "Your perverted genre fantasies have come shimmying to life", or because (in the words of NYTheater.com), "Comedy and partial nudity go remarkably well together. Where else can you hoot, whistle, and bust a gut laughing?" The rocket to NAKED PLANET re-launches from the Collective:Unconscious spaceport on Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17 at 10pm.
