PINCHBOTTOM TWIRLS TASSELS FOR TOTS (or not)
Children to be banned from burlesque show designed especially for children

BURLESQUE FOR KIDS not for kids

Over the past 16 months, Pinchbottom has produced a wide range of themed burlesque shows, each designed to appeal to a different segment of the population -- men, women, eaters, drinkers, mystery lovers, democrats, geeks, and everything in between. But one demographic has been consistently and conspicuously absent from Pinchbottom's shows, and that is: little children.

On August 17 & 18, 2007, that oversight will be rectified, when Pinchbottom proudly presents BURLESQUE FOR KIDS (not for kids)! Finally, a burlesque show for the whole family! (Except the kids.) Yes, everybody from the young to the young at heart (actual young will not be admitted) will enjoy this brightly-colored show designed especially for children! (Not suitable for children.) With puppets! Animation! Costumed characters! And tributes to some of the greatest children's shows of all time! (18+ only. ID required.)

Producer and star Nasty Canasta explained how the idea came about: "Swinburne called a child's laughter 'sweeter far than all things heard,' and never is that more true than when the little cuties next door start playing in the back yard just a few hours after I've gone to bed. So we wanted to give something back to those -- and indeed all -- children, in the only way we know."

"Despite what everyone else says, kids are the future," said Jonny Porkpie, "and Pinchbottom cannot in good conscience go into that future without having done a show just for the children." Tom Keenan, producer for C:U, clarified: "Under no circumstances will children be allowed to attend the show."

Added Nasty, "I can't wait to see the smiles on their little faces."

ABOUT PINCHBOTTOM BURLESQUE
"BEST BURLESQUE in NY" - New York Magazine's Best of New York 2007
"MOST INNOVATIVE" - Burlesque Hall of Fame Exotic World Pageant 2007
Explore the inner mind of burlesque with 'Pinchbottom's Sub:Conscious.' Each monthly journey centers around a different theme, linking together striptease and variety acts from top performers with a topical narrative... and, believe it or not, a plot. 'Pinchbottom's Sub:Conscious' is where burlesque meets downtown theater, buys it a drink and takes it to bed. The show is hosted by NASTY CANASTA & JONNY PORKPIE, who should probably not be described at the Lunt-Fontannes of the New York Burlesque scene, although they do perform together with alarming frequency. "Wicked senses of humor" -The Village Voice (A Voice Choice); "Comedy and partial nudity go remarkably well together. Where else can you hoot, whistle, and bust a gut laughing?" -NY Theatre.com; "Hilarious burlesque" -Next Magazine; "Your perverted genre fantasies have come shimmying to life" -Time Out New York
