PINCHBOTTOM'S RETURNS TO OUTER SPACE FOR AN ENCORE PRESENTATION of NAKED PLANET sci-fi burlesque Summer re-runs never looked so good On July 1st, 2006, return to the sexiest planet in the universe... NAKED PLANET. Can Space Queen NASTY CANASTA and starship captain JONNY PORKPIE forge a futuristic truce with the help of scintillating performances by burlesque stars WORLD FAMOUS *BOB*, ANITA COOKIE, CREAMY STEVENS, DELIRIUM TREMENS, GIGI LA FEMME, HOWLIN' VIC, MISS FIRECRACKER and variety acts by SCHAFFER THE DARKLORD, SCOTT RAYOW, NAUGHTIA NICE and ZERO BOY? If we know anything about classic sci-fi plots, the answer is "yes"... but (if we know anything about burlesque) not before everyone gets undressed." One might be surprised," says Pinchbottom, "given the cliched image of less-than-attractive gentlemen clad as Klingons, to find that quite a few beautiful women are closeted Science Fiction fans. But one would be nothing short of delighted -- as I was -- to discover that several of these beautiful women also have a strong interest in taking off their clothes on stage. Learning this (as a geek myself), I had no option but to encourage these ladies to combine the two passions." "When we debuted NAKED PLANET in May, so many people came, we had to turn some away," continues Pinchbottom, "and that saddened me. In an alternate universe, I might be the one standing outside, crying like a baby because I was missing the tassel-twirling tributes to Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Deep Space Nine, living dolls, robots, clones, and alien abductions! Eminent scientists were concerned that people who missed the show might actually attempt to travel through time to see it. So, to preserve the fabric of the universe, we decided to do NAKED PLANET again." The rocket to NAKED PLANET re-launches from the Collective:Unconscious spaceport at a special night and time: 7:30pm on July 1st, 2006. Nasty Canasta is a winner of a 2005 New York Burlesque Festival award for "Hottest Freshman", and is one of the producers of Sweet & Nasty Burlesque, which performs weekly at RiFiFi.
